Why get private yoga lessons?

You are a complete beginner

Going to a yoga studio can be overwhelming, get the basics down so you can feel more confident in a class. It is also a good way to develop healthy habits from the start.

You want to prevent injury

It's not possible in a group class to see every student in every pose, which means your teacher might be missing little things. Having healthy yoga habits from the start prevents injury down the road.

You are inflexable

You don't need to be flexible to practice yoga which is a great way to gain flexibility. Flexibility is often overlooked over strength training but it is just as important if you want to stay mobile, especially as we age.

You have an injury

You can still practice yoga with an injury or pain, it can even be beneficial, but you need to adapt the practice for it. Private lessons are a great way to learn adaptions in each pose that you can then do in class or at home.

You have a chronic illness

Yoga is so beneficial for chronic illness such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, PCOS, diabetes, and more. While yoga is not a cure the right practice can help manage the symptoms associated with them.

You are struggling with your mental health

Depression and anxiety are becoming more common, and while there are great treatments out there yoga has been shown to improve our mental wellbeing significantly.

You want to regulate your nervous system

We live in constant overstimulation, which has caused many of us to have a dysregulated nervous system. Living disconnected from our body and ourself,

You have stopped making progress in therapy

Talk therapy is great but it is only one part of healing. We often live disconnected from our body which hinders our ability to heal. Yoga can help you reconnect with the body, my clients say it was their missing link in therapy.

The Working Yogi

Have you heard sitting is the new smoking? Sitting for long hours every day can negatively affect our health, it can cause bad posture, pain, and tightness in the muscles especially in the neck, back, and hips. It’s even linked to weight gain, depression, and more. I’m not trying to scare you! Sitting is part of our life, but when we do it for a long time, every day, it can start to cause problems.

So how do we fix this? Well, we move. Movement is vital to our health and well-being, both mental and physical.

I know it can be difficult to find the time and energy to fit in a full workout or yoga class, that’s where this course comes in! It’s a 5 week course that you can do right at your desk, to bring some movement into your day, helping ease stiff muscles, refocus the mind, and take a healthy mindful break! The classes are only 10 – 15 min or less, you can choose from breathing exercises, meditation, flowing movement, strengthening, or a combination of all.

The persistent practice of yoga and mindfulness is effective in managing a wide variety of disorders such as stress, anxiety, arthritis, headaches, insomnia, indigestion, and lower back pain. As well as enhancing self-esteem, a positive mood elevates compassionate understanding, increases suppleness, strength, feeling of well-being, pain control, and longevity.
